PractitionerSam Andison the founder of The Acupuncture Guy has a background in Traditional Chinese Medicine (e.g. Acupuncture and Herbs). He has studied Chinese and Japanese schools of Acupuncture, and practiced alongside Chinese medical professionals throughout his Bachelor degree, and studied in Seoul, Korea following graduation. Sam is also part of the largest acupuncture supplies company in Australia and is involved in organising seminars for fellow practitioners and liaising with Acupuncturists all over Queensland. Sam is also a long time martial arts practitioner with experience in both traditional and realistic styles, he is currently studying Brazilian JiuJitsu. For the purpose of maintaining physical and mental health Sam is a big advocate of movement and exercise in general. Having suffered more than a few injuries throughout his sporting career he knows how important it is to recover from injury quickly, and prevent future set backs.
The Acupuncture Guy
The concept behind “The Acupuncture Guy” is to make Traditional Chinese Medicine relevant to the general Australian public. Growing up in mainstream Australia Sam understood the stigmas and stereotypes often associated with alternative medicines like acupuncture. So if you are apprehensive about Acupuncture actually working or not he understands where your coming from (you may also like to check out some of the relevant material on this site). Possessing many of these beliefs himself he realized that it was the language being used which creates most of the conjecture surrounding Acupuncture and that in fact the concepts and principals being used were quite logical. To be fair not everything under the Traditional Chinese Medicine/Acupuncture umbrella works or is realistic, this is why its important to find a practitioner you can trust like “The Acupuncture Guy”. All practitioners are registered with the Australian Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine Association (AACMA) and the Chinese Medical Board of Australia (CMBA). Health fund rebates and WorkCover are available. All services are delivered with care and attention to detail. At the Acupuncture Guy we take great pride in our ability to communicate in a way everyone can understand.
At the Acupuncture Guy we offer a range of services that can be used in any combination which best suits your individual needs. Services used may include and not limited to:
